This HealthMate Sauna uses infrared heat. It is a portable one or two-person western cedar sauna. Four infrared heating elements, 2 in back and 2 in front, distribute the heat evenly over the whole body.
Infrared heat sauna works in the 100 to 150 degree range, a much lower temperature than the saunas that heat the air. The infrared heat warms the body yet still allows for comfortable breathing.
