Somewhere in Scripture there is the phrase that "God can move mountains." God indeed can move the obstacles in the way of our spiritual growth. My friend James always says, "God CAN move that mountain, but He wants me to bring my shovel, not my lawn chair!" We have to be involved in God's work. We must have a working relationship with God.
Life is all about growth, hardship, joy, toil and trouble. We cannot expect our life on earth to be handed to us on a silver platter. Those who get ahead in life are those who work for it, with or without GOD. The great thing about working WITH God is that He will take care of us for eternity! Those who work hard to gain only the world and lose their soul profit nothing at the judgement day. .
The world is full of people who have won or inherited great wealth only to lose it quickly and be worse off for the experience. The world is full of people who cry out to God for deliverance from an addiction and then make no effort themselves to change their habits. We can't sit down in our lawn chair and expect God to always do all the work.
